Crossroads of War: Maryland and the Border in the Civil War Website Launched

The Catoctin Center for Regional Studies, in partnership with National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Park Service, Frederick Community College, the Heart of the Civil War Heritage Area, and the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority, announces its new website: “Crossroads of War: Maryland and the Border in the Civil War.” This website, available at www.CrossroadsofWar.org.
This Crossroads of War website is a comprehensive exploration of the Civil War in mid-Maryland and offers several features to benefit students and teachers in Maryland. Three historic databases offer details of the Civil War experience at a community and individual level. Students may use these databases to view newspapers, soldier records, and personal reflections from the period. Additionally, teachers will find lesson plans and other resources for classroom use.
