You’re invited to a full-day teacher workshop on July 10, 2014 exploring the hidden, true stories and real people behind the War of 1812 in the Chesapeake. It will be held at the CBMM’s Van Lennep Auditorium from 9:30 am -4:30 pm. Through hands-on activities, expert lecturers, a walking tour, and interactive lesson plans, teachers can share with their students the experiences of slaves, Quakers, shipbuilders, and plantation owners whose lives were changed by the conflict. Lunch and a $100 stipend will also be provided for participating teachers. Registration is first-come, first-served for only 20 teachers.
