The African American History in 18th Century Maryland Teacher Workshop will be held on August 1 & 2, 2013, 8:30 am till 4:30 pm each day. Historic London Town and Gardens has partnered with the Maryland State Archives and the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Lab to bring a unique, hands-on learning opportunity for the teachers. Sessions will include primary source research with the Maryland State Archivists, and Dr. Patricia Samford will explore archaeological evidence from the 18th century. We will also be hearth cooking in the Lord Mayor’s Tenement using periodĀ recipesĀ and ingredients. The cost for the 2-day workshop is $30 ($25 for Maryland Council for the Social Studies members) and they can earn 1 MSDE credit. Lunch is included each day.
