This two-day conference will be presented by the Catoctin Center for Regional Studies in Frederick.  Keynote speakers will be:

“Black Men in Blue: African American Soldiers in the Civil War”

 Dr. Barbara Fields, Columbia University

“Was Emancipation a War Crime?”

 An optional bus tour of historic sites, including a former Freedmen’s Bureau school in Sharpsburg, MD, will be a part of the program.
